Rough fish of Lake Menomin

MENOMONIE — A project intended to improve Tainter Lake’s water quality got off the ground and into the water this week.
Friends of the Red Cedar Basin were issued $65,000 from the state Department of Natural Resources to improve the lake north of Menomonie. The group is in a cooperative agreement with the DNR to aid in restoring the lake’s health.
