Coldest April to humid May

After a seemingly long 2017-2018 winter with not quite record breaking ice coverage on Menomin, it seems we went from the coldest April on record straight to a humid and warm May.

April appears to have had an average 36 degree F overall with what looks like .33 inches for precipitation.

So far in May it looks like 62 degrees F is the average with 90's expected for the last week of May.

High heat.

But then add in 2.85 inches rainfall so far in May, with 1.26 inches dropped less than 24 hours ago.

What does this mean for forecasting weather conditions that enable cyanobacteria to bloom to excess?

High heat plus moderate rainfall?   Will this negate the long and thick ice covered Menomin cold?

Will it make no difference by August?
