Lake Menomin swimming and algae

Remnants of the old

 These are pictures from fall of 2016 at the south side of the Red Cedar river near where the current dam replaced the old dam where portions of the old structures are still there.   Fall is the best time to capture a glimpse of the remnants of the past before they are covered up by winter snow.

Here you can see the dry land that juts out just beyond the light post.  That is all lost to a new elevation of the water by 10 feet.     Also note here in 1957 there is only one Hwy. 12 bridge.
